Charnice Milton

Charnice Milton, 27, was a journalist who lived and worked East of the River in Washington, DC. She loved books and worked with words. Milton (6/19/87– 5/27/15) was shot to death in Southeast DC while returning from an assignment; she, and her community journalism, is missed by many. More about Charnice Milton and her work.

This bookstore honors her legacy by providing Anacostia and surrounding neighborhoods with access to books, a key element in literacy. May her memory be for a blessing.
